Our Orange Varieties

Washington Navel

This variety that constitutes the foundation of navel orange species was grown due to natural mutation. It was first brought to Antalya Citrus Station from California in 1945 and then spread all over Turkey from there.

The slightly rough skin has a dark orange colour and is medium-thin. The skin tightly adheres to the flesh. This variety is suitable for storing and transport. The fruit flesh has an orange colour, is crisp, full of aroma, and tasty. It is generally seedless. However, 1 or 2 seeds may be found on rare occasions.

It is a mid-early variety. It matures towards the end of November and mid-January. Due to its parthenocarpic characteristic, severe cold, hot, or dry winds cause serious fruit drops.
