Satsuma
Satsuma mandarin is known in Turkey as Rize mandarin. Satsuma mandarin was first brought to Turkey in the early 1900s from Japan via Batumi. It has a yellow-orange colour and slightly rough skin during its harvest period. The peel does not hold onto the flesh too tight and it is easy to peel.
Its appearance has a dark orange colour. It has an intense taste and smell. It is a seedless genus compared to other mandarin varieties. In addition, it is a high-yield mandarin variety and can give regular yields even under bad weather conditions. Its fruit begins maturing from October onwards.
